Marlow mentioned she had a YA science fiction novel, I knew I had to read it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/String-Weavers-Book-ebook\/dp\/B0059I9O7S\/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&amp;sr=1-21&amp;qid=1377043385\"><em>The String Weavers (String Weavers Book 1)<\/em><\/a> did not disappoint. \u00a0I will not lie &#8211; I read this book in two days. \u00a0And it&#8217;s not a small book. \u00a0It&#8217;s not a simple book. \u00a0It&#8217;s a lush, vibrant, amazing book that sucked me in to its worlds and wouldn&#8217;t let me go until I came out gasping on the other end.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This is the story of Kelsey Hale, a \u00a0normal sixteen year old girl. \u00a0Well, if normal girls could hear phantom music, have food disappear on her and see ghosts. \u00a0Doesn&#8217;t everyone?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Well, no. \u00a0Turns out Kelsey&#8217;s bracelet, a gift from her dead mother, is a Weaver band &#8211; a special piece of jewelry that aliens use to travel the Strings and help keep the Universes (yes, with an &#8220;s&#8221;) untangled. \u00a0There are Phoenixes to help them, but there is also danger &#8211; and that danger has just come to Kelsey&#8217;s home, and kidnapped her and her father.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>What I liked about this book was that Kelsey was really real. \u00a0She didn&#8217;t automatically become a badass &#8211; she&#8217;s a teenager, thrust into an incredible situation, and she doesn&#8217;t just rise to the challenge. \u00a0She falls sometimes. \u00a0She breaks some things (mostly rules). \u00a0She gets into trouble.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And damn, is this well-written trouble. \u00a0I had a lot of fun reading this, and I have already bought the second book\u00a0<em>The Phoenix Eggs,<\/em> \u00a0and I promise you there will be a review of that soon. \u00a0There are some typos that I did notice, but they didn&#8217;t detract from the story.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Disclaimer: I do know J.A.
